How it all got started........
Inspired by a popular
poem by Jenny Joseph entitled "Warning", which begins "When I am am old woman, I shall wear purple with a red hat...." The
Red Hat Society is a women's "disorganization" based on the concept that aging isn't necessarily all bad.

Bonnet Rouge officially became a chapter of the Red Hat Society on
September 24, 2002 and became a part of all those other fun-loving
ladies worldwide. At our first meeting in May 2002 there were five
founding members and in a short time increased to twenty members who gather for fun and frivolity once
each month in our
PURPLE ATTIRE AND
RED HATS!
